It’s easy to spin anything to look suspicious but I do think there is more to it than “she was kidnapped”. The photos/the conflicting accounts of what they did that day/the sniffer dog/the lack of her DNA at the scene (as they washed everything). While I think some of the inconsistencies in their stories were simply due to them not paying much attention to the specific times they entered/left buildings etc there were lots of really weird things I never realised.
I watched some of that YouTube documentary. I know it sounds awful but it just didn't look very organic. I shouldn't think we'll ever find out but I always felt that the parents weren't terribly convincing - I remember being quite young when it happened and seeing Kate McCann crying on TV. It's been a while since I heard him speak on the subject but I think he was under the impression that she had likely been killed accidentally (perhaps by consuming drugs that were in the holiday home) and had been disposed of down one of the many soft-clay/earth wells that surround the area. He wrote a book and put a documentary or two together on the McCann disappearance and was convinced that the parents had a hand in it. Yeah, at my undergraduate university there was a forensic science professor who specialised in cold cases (I was a bio student). He describes their behaviour and their answers when they were questioned by investigators.
